About Eldfast Flue Liners

Eldfast chimney lining is a ceramic system made up of two elements: a refractory ceramic aggregate powder and a powder bonding agent. Together, they create a thick slurry that, when pressure is applied during installation, forms into an adhesive. Previously, materials containing water, cement, or lime/clay mortar were commonly used for flue linings. However, these materials have been found to be vulnerable to acid attack and deterioration. That’s why we exclusively use our specialist ceramic mixture for long-lasting, high-performance chimney linings.

Why Eldfast Chimney Linings Are Different

  • Maintains Internal Chimney Space – Traditional flue lining methods involve inserting an inflatable form and filling it with concrete, reducing chimney capacity. This can lead to smoke blowback and soot buildup. Eldfast flue liners, on the other hand, are drawn through the chimney, leaving only a 4mm thick protective layer that preserves internal space and ensures proper airflow.
